Self-Discipline Pacifier (SDP) is an interactive pneumatic device that inflicts light pressure on human neck for pacification. It actuates the interchangeability of pain and pleasure, violence and care, transgression and intimacy. Through the sensual and emotional synergy between SDP and users, the interactive experience subjects users to self-aggression and self-care. It thereby transforms any self-harming intents the users may have for self-healing.

SDP combines body-sensitizing touch therapy and physical intrusion to highlight touch’s importance in culturing comprehensive human experience. The project thereby explores ways of affectively influencing audiences to attend their psychophysical sensibility and complexity.
